Unlocking archery skills in video games often requires completing specific quests or missions. For example, in Dragon's Dogma 2, players can unlock the A Trial of Archery side quest by first completing the \Gift of the Bow\ quest. In Dying Light 2: Stay Human, players must complete the Let's Waltz mission to unlock the Pipe Bow. Additionally, in Remnant II, players can unlock three legendary bows—the Royal Hunting Bow, the Sagittarius Bow, and the Crescent Moon Bow—by completing specific puzzles and missions.
What You'll Learn
Complete the 'Gift of the Bow' side quest in Dragon's Dogma 2
To complete the Gift of the Bow side quest in Dragon's Dogma 2, you must first speak with Glyndwr, a male NPC with long silver hair and a bow, in the Merchant Quarter of Vernworth, outside the weaponsmith's shop, Roderick's Smithy.
You will need to give Glyndwr a human-made bow (either from your inventory or purchased from the shop) to start the quest. He will then ask you to meet him at the ruins north of Trevo Mine to practice. This is located in the northwest of the map, near the Mountain Pass.
It is important to change your Vocation to Archer before you leave. You can do this by talking to Klaus in the Vocation Guild, but remember that you will need Discipline Points to make the change.
Once you arrive at the ruins, cross the river to the north. You will know you are close when you see a golden square on your minimap. Glyndwr will ask you to shoot some targets with your bow. Once you have done this, you will have completed the quest.
Completing the Gift of the Bow quest will unlock another quest: A Trial of Archery.

Escort Gautstafr to Windwalker's Home in Dragon's Dogma 2
To escort Gautstafr to Windwalker's Home in Dragon's Dogma 2, you must first complete a series of tasks as part of the "Put a Spring in Thy Step" side quest. Here is a step-by-step guide:
Step 1: Reach Agamen Volcanic Island
To begin the quest, you must reach Agamen Volcanic Island by travelling through the Drabnir's Grotto cave, found at the end of the southernmost Battahli road near the Riftstone of the Fanged.
Step 2: Find and Aid Gautstafr
Once on the island, look for Gautstafr, an old dwarf suffering from back problems, on the dirt road next to a campsite south of Windwalker's Home. He will ask you for three wildflowers to help cure his condition. You can find wildflowers, such as Morningtide, Greenwarish, or Pitywort, along the dirt road near Gautstafr or in the yard around Windwalker's Home.
Step 3: Visit Windwalker's Home
After giving Gautstafr the wildflowers, he will invite you to his home, Windwalker's Home, located on a small nearby island to the north. Follow him along the road, or carry him if his back gives out.
Step 4: Meet Cliodhna
Once you reach Windwalker's Home, approach the small cottage's front door, and you will meet Cliodhna, Gautstafr's wife and a Magick Archer Maister. After a brief chat, follow Gautstafr inside, where his back pain will act up again.
Step 5: Offer to Escort Gautstafr
While Gautstafr searches for a reward, offer to escort him to the Geyser Hamlet, located inside the Volcanic Island Camp to the east. This step can be dangerous as there will be enemies along the way, so it is recommended to clear them out before starting the escort.
Step 6: Escort Gautstafr to Geyser Hamlet
When you're ready, hail Gautstafr and offer to escort him. Be sure not to outrun him as he cannot keep up with your pace. Make your way east along the dirt road leading to the Volcanic Island Camp. You will likely encounter some enemies, including Magma Scales and Hobgoblins.
Step 7: Reach the Geyser Hamlet
Once you enter the Volcanic Island Camp with Gautstafr, take the dirt ramp on the north end of the camp. Follow the second dirt ramp uphill towards a large stone tunnel in the centre of the camp. At the top, take a right, climb the ladder, and make your way through the cave. Cross the bridge and enter the black stone building with the tent inside—this is the Geyser Hamlet.
Step 8: Unlocking Magick Archer Vocation
If Gautstafr survives the trip, you will have earned the trust of Cliodhna, who will approach you and unlock her Magick Archer vocation. She will also reward you with the Spellbow's Paradox tome, which teaches you Martyr's Bolt, a powerful Magick Archer Maister skill.
Now that you have completed the "Put a Spring in Thy Step" quest, you can visit any Vocation Guild to acquire the Magick Archer vocation for 200 DCP.

Complete the 'Let's Waltz' mission in Dying Light 2
To unlock archery in Dying Light 2, you need to complete the Let's Waltz mission. Here's a detailed walkthrough to help you through the mission:
Get inside the tunnel
After completing the prior quest, you will talk to either Aitor or Sophie, depending on the faction you chose to assign the water tower to. Your objective is to head to the tunnel in the south part of the map, leading to the old car factory where Waltz is hiding out. Climb up onto the vehicle and the higher part of the wall to reach the tunnel. Ignore any goliaths wandering around and proceed to the tunnel.
Turn on the generator
Interact with the button inside the tunnel, but it won't work as the power is off. Climb up the cliffside to the left to reach the top of the wall. You can kick down a ladder to make it easier to return through the tunnel later. Find the first generator in the tunnel, behind a metal building on the left, and interact with it. Now head back to where you entered and turn on the second generator against the other metal building.
Get rid of the threat
After attempting to turn on the generator, a new type of infected will appear. These infected have hard armour and will charge at you. Dodge their attacks and strike when they're charging or stunned by a wall.
Find the utility room and restore the power
Someone has cut the power, so you need to restore it. Follow the yellow cables on the ground to a door. Drop down into a room and interact with a plug to restore power. Use Survivor's Sense to follow footprints and jump across the water to a vent. Climb up into the vent and enter the next room. Exit this room to return to Aitor. After a scene, you will be attacked by Renegades. Deal with them and continue out of the tunnel.
Follow Waltz into the car factory
Jump between sections of the broken highway, using beams and handholds to progress. When you reach a wire, move across it manually as it's not a zipline. Drop down towards the blue bus and continue past it, going down the hill of solar panels towards a building with a green sign. Deal with the Renegades outside and inside the building.
Pursue Waltz in the car factory
Jump onto the car in the middle of the room, then to the cars on the wall, and onto fixtures hanging from the ceiling to reach the next platform. Continue using fixtures to jump to the next platforms and areas. Deal with enemies as you progress. Before continuing to the next floor, grab the Memento on the cot. Continue through the building, dealing with the remaining Renegades before reaching Waltz.
After meeting Waltz, you will now need to escape him. Follow the objective into a red building and through a door. Keep running through the building, jumping through and on top of train cars. Swing on a rope to reach the next part of the train when you reach a broken section of the tunnel. Head through the doorway and back into the tunnels, keeping ahead of Waltz. Eventually, you will climb a ladder and Waltz will fall into a hole, ending the chase.
After a conversation with the sniper, Aiden will have a short nap. Continue through the tunnel and speak with the sniper again. She will reveal that she is Lawan, the person your contact told you to meet. The mission ends after another conversation.

Solve the Cathedral of Omens puzzle in Remnant 2
The Cathedral of Omens is a temple to the gods of the Pan in Remnant 2, and it contains a unique puzzle. To solve the puzzle, you must manipulate a giant mechanism that casts shadows on the floor. The shadows correspond to different deities of the Pan: The Sun, The Moon, Life, Death, The Doe, and The Ravager. There are three levers that control this mechanism:
- The first lever, which is located at the entrance, rotates the layer with the triangle and two circles.
- The second lever, which is to the left of the entrance, rotates the layer with two circles.
- The third lever, which is to the right of the entrance, rotates the layer with symbols.
To solve the puzzle, you must use these levers to create specific patterns on the floor by casting shadows with the mechanism. To determine the patterns, you need to refer to a book in the library attached to the puzzle room. This book contains clues about the symbols and their meanings, as well as the order in which they should be arranged.
- Find the door you want to unlock. Each door has a symbol above it, and the puzzle triangle should match the orientation of this symbol when viewed from the center of the puzzle.
- Use the southern lever (next to the entrance) to align the puzzle triangle with the symbol above the door.
- Refer to the book to find the corresponding door triangle orientation and the required symbols.
- Use the eastern lever (in front of the Blood Moon door) to align the required symbols according to their positions mentioned in the book. Focus on which pair of opposing symbols go into the two fixed base focus circles.
- Use the western lever (next to the broken Beginning door) to change the remaining focus circles to focus on the remaining symbols.
For example, to get the Sagittarius bow (The Hope), follow these steps:
- THE HOPE is the symbol on top of the entrance into the puzzle room.
- Pull the southern lever until the puzzle triangle faces top-right when viewed from the center, matching the orientation of the triangle above THE HOPE door.
- According to the book, THE HOPE section mentions four symbols: THE DOE, THE RAVAGER, SUN, and LIFE, with LIFE and SUN below THE DOE.
- Use the eastern lever to place the symbols of THE DOE and THE RAVAGER inside the base focus circles, and adjust the remaining circles so that LIFE and SUN are below THE DOE.
- With this configuration, pull the western lever to focus the remaining two circles on LIFE and SUN.
By following these steps and referring to the book for the specific symbol arrangements, you can solve the Cathedral of Omens puzzle and unlock the corresponding doors.

This item can be inserted into the web in the asylum's basement to open a portal to the Tormented Asylum.
Inside the Tormented Asylum, players will find a large web in one of the cells near the Checkpoint. Interacting with the web and inserting the Nightweaver Stone Doll will reward players with the Dreamcatcher.
With the Dreamcatcher in hand, players can now find Nimue in her retreat on Losomn. To obtain Nimue's Dream consumable, players must hit the sleeping Nimue with the Dreamcatcher. To force Nimue to fall asleep, players can simply leave her retreat and return several times.
