Wii Sports Resort Archery: Secret Targets Revealed

where are the secret targets in wii sports resort archery

Archery is one of the 12 sports in Wii Sports Resort, and it features a secret food target in each stage. There are 12 secret targets in total, one for each stage, and they are not randomised. Each difficulty level—Beginner, Intermediate, and Expert—consists of four targets at progressively longer distances. The targets are well-hidden and difficult to spot, and they are always much further away than the normal target. Hitting a secret target is worth 10 points and uses one of your three shots. In the Beginner stage, the first hidden target is an orange by the waterfall. The next three targets are a watermelon on a cliff, a cantaloupe under a tree at the left close to the bridge, and a strawberry cake on the lower right.

Beginner stage targets

The beginner stage of Archery in Wii Sports Resort features four secret targets, which are all pieces of food. Hitting these targets is challenging as they are much further away than the normal target and are small in size. However, they are worth 10 points and will give you a Stamp if you collect all of them.

The first target is an orange by the waterfall. It is located to the far right of the target, at ground level, at the base of the waterfall. You will need to aim high for this one, using the rocky crag above the orange and the waterfall to frame your shot.

The second target is a watermelon on a cliff. It is situated to the far left of the target, on a ledge at the base of the cliff. Use the leafy tree in front of the watermelon to help line up your shot.

The third target is a cantaloupe, which is incredibly hard to spot. It is located behind the leftmost post holding up the target. To reach it, aim your circle above the left post, lining up the bottom rim of the circle with the tree in the distance.

The fourth and final target is a dessert—a white cake with a strawberry on top. It is located to the bottom right of the target in a grassy field. It is sitting in plain sight but is rather tiny and far away. To ensure your arrow travels far enough, aim for the sandbank behind it.

Intermediate stage targets

Hitting all twelve hidden targets in the Wii Sports Resort Archery game takes practice, skill, patience and luck. Each of the twelve Archery ranges (there are four ranges for each difficulty level) features a hidden target. When you fire near a hidden target, the camera will zoom in to show your arrow's path, then inform you if you hit or missed.

Orange (Orange Sphere)

You might not be able to see this one while aiming, but you may be able to spot it with your bow down. It's to the right of the palm tree that's to the right of the target, on a tennis court. Firing in its general direction will reveal its location, but to hit it, it's recommended to aim for the corner of the red rooftop above it. Centre this corner and then make slight adjustments for wind to hit the orange below.

Watermelon (Green Sphere)

You can spot this one high above on a rope bridge. Look up from the target and to the left. To hit this one, you'll need to counter the wind. If you wait until the aiming circle shrinks to its smallest point, then move it exactly that circle's width above the target, you should be vertically aligned with it. The challenge is to make slight adjustments for the wind. This one is one of the hardest and takes more luck than anything else!

Cantaloupe (Beige Sphere)

This one is extremely difficult to hit. Just below the largest tree, to the right of the target, is a faint tan sphere of a Cantaloupe. The tree interferes with your arrows, and the key to getting a zoom-shot is to graze or directly hit the cantaloupe. To do this, line up the circle using the two low steeples above the melon. Your smallest, flashing circle's leftmost border should obscure the taller steeple, while the lower steeple's point should touch the imaginary line that bisects the circle horizontally. You'll probably only hit this if the wind is on your side; 1 mph or less and you'll be fine—any more and you'll most likely miss. Good luck!

Yummy Cake (Tan Lumpy Object)

To the high upper right of the target area is a tree on a cliff. To the left of this tree, sitting on the cliff itself, is a small cake. To hit it, you'll want to line up your smallest, flashing aiming circle so its bottom rim touches the cake.

Expert stage targets

The Expert stage in Archery on the Wii Sports Resort has four hidden targets. Here is a breakdown of each target's location and how to hit them:

Orange (Orange sphere)

This orange is located on the beach, far to the right of the target. To hit it, line up the smallest, flashing circle reticule with the constellation of bright stars above the palm trees. There are four distinct pairs of stars in this constellation. By lining up the bottom stars with the rim of your circle, your arrow will fly towards the orange. Remember to adjust for wind as the distance is quite large.

Watermelon (Green sphere)

To the right of the target is a hill, with the top ridge of a watermelon visible. This area is quite windy, so adjustments are required. Line up the bottom ridge of the circle so that it just touches the watermelon. Ideally, the wind will curve your arrow into the top of the melon.

Cantaloupe (Beige sphere)

This is perhaps the easiest of the Expert level targets to spot and shoot. The cantaloupe is located above and to the left of the target, on the corner of the temple wall. Aim slightly above the cantaloupe, with the distance between the bottom rim of the aiming circle and the fruit being about a quarter of the circle's height. Be sure to adjust for wind.

Clock (Red and black box with digital display)

The final hidden target is difficult to spot as it is red and sitting in lava, just past the rock spire to the far right. Aim directly at the clock, with the bottom ring of your aiming reticule just below the visible top of the clock.

How to find secret targets

Archery in Wii Sports Resort is a sport where the player has to use a bow and arrow and try to hit the bullseye. Each of the twelve Archery ranges (there are four ranges for each difficulty level) features a hidden target. There are 12 secret targets in total, one for each stage. Hitting all 12 secret targets will get you a Stamp.

Beginner Stage

The first hidden target in the Beginner Stage is an orange by the waterfall. You can find it at the base of the waterfall to the far right of the target, at ground level.

The next hidden target is a watermelon on a cliff. You can spot it to the far left of the target, sitting on a far ridge.

The next hidden target is a cantaloupe under the tree at the left, close to the bridge. This one is incredibly hard to spot as it is behind the leftmost post holding up the target.

The last hidden target is a strawberry cake on the lower right. It is sitting in plain sight in a grassy field, although it is rather small and far away.

Intermediate Stage

The first hidden target in the Intermediate Stage is an orange located on the tennis court on the right. You can spot it next to the palm tree on the right of the target, but you can't see it while aiming.

The second hidden target is a watermelon at the top of the bridge. You can see the top half of it high above on a rope bridge to the left of the target.

The next hidden target is a cantaloupe in front of the castle at the gate. It is extremely difficult to hit as the tree interferes with your arrows.

The last hidden target is a loaf of bread at the top of a cliff on the right, next to a tree.

Expert Stage

The first hidden target in the Expert Stage is an orange on the right on the beach. It is deceptively far down the beach to the right of the target.

The next hidden target is a watermelon to the right between the two cliffs. You can only hit its top because it is located just after a hill.

The third hidden target is a cantaloupe on top of the left ruin statue. Perhaps the easiest of the Expert levels' fruits to both spot and shoot, this melon rests on the corner of the temple wall, above and to the left of the target.

The last hidden target is an electronic clock in the volcano on the right. To hit it, point just to the right of one of the rocks. It is the only hidden target that is not a piece of food.

Tips for hitting secret targets

Hitting the secret targets in Wii Sports Resort Archery requires a combination of practice, skill, patience, and luck. Here are some tips to help you hit those targets:

Beginner Stage

  • Orange by the Waterfall: This target is located to the left of the waterfall. Aim high and use the rocky crag above the orange and the waterfall to frame your shot. Line up your sights with the orange, then adjust your aim upwards towards the crag before releasing your arrow.
  • Watermelon on the Cliff: Look almost all the way to the left to spot this one on a ledge at the base of the cliff. Use the leafy tree in front of it to line up your shot.
  • Cantaloupe under the Tree: This one is incredibly hard to spot—it's behind the leftmost post holding up the target. Aim your circle above the left post, aligning the bottom rim of the circle with the tree in the distance. This will send your arrow towards the cantaloupe.
  • Strawberry Cake: This dessert is located in the bottom right, in a grassy field. It's tiny and far away, so make sure to aim for the sandbank behind it to ensure your arrow travels far enough. Adjust the bottom rim of your circle reticle to touch the sandy bank.

Intermediate Stage

  • Orange on the Tennis Court: This target is on the tennis court to the right of the palm tree. While you can't see it while aiming, you may spot it with your bow down. Firing in its general direction will reveal its location. To hit it, aim for the corner of the red rooftop above the orange and make slight adjustments for wind.
  • Watermelon on the Rope Bridge: Look up and to the left from the target to spot this watermelon on a rope bridge. This one is tricky as you'll need to counter the wind. Wait for the aiming circle to shrink to its smallest point, then move it exactly that circle's width above the target to vertically align with the watermelon. Now, make slight adjustments for the wind.
  • Cantaloupe by the Castle: This target is located just below the largest tree, to the right of the target. The tree will interfere with your arrows, so to get a zoom shot, you'll need to hit or graze the cantaloupe. Line up the circle using the two low steeples above the melon. Adjust your aim so that the leftmost border of the smallest, flashing circle obscures the taller steeple, while the lower steeple's point touches the imaginary line that horizontally bisects the circle. For this shot, you'll need minimal wind (1 mph or less) to succeed.
  • Loaf of Bread: To find this target, look to the high upper right of the target area for a tree on a cliff. The bread is to the left of this tree, also sitting on the cliff. Line up your smallest, flashing aiming circle so its bottom rim touches the bread, and make adjustments for wind if necessary.

Expert Stage

  • Orange on the Beach: This orange is located to the right of the target, quite far down the beach. Align the smallest, flashing circle reticle with the "dog face" constellation of bright stars above the palm trees. Adjust your aim so that the bottom stars of this constellation touch the rim of your circle. Don't forget to account for wind due to the long distance.
  • Watermelon Behind the Hill: To the right of the target is a hill, with the top ridge of the watermelon peeking over it. This area is windy, so make the necessary adjustments. Line up the bottom ridge of the circle so it barely obscures the watermelon to get the right distance. With the right wind speed and direction, your arrow will curve into the watermelon.
  • Cantaloupe on the Temple Wall: This target is perhaps the easiest to spot and shoot in the Expert level. You'll find it above and to the left of the target, resting on the corner of the temple wall. Aim slightly above it, keeping the distance between the bottom rim of your aiming circle and the fruit at about a quarter of the circle's height. Don't forget to adjust for wind!
  • Clock in the Volcano: The final hidden target is challenging to spot as it's red and sitting in lava. Look to the far right, just past the rock spire. Aim directly at the clock, with the bottom ring of your aiming reticle just below its visible top.
